Bekkers McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon - 6 x 750ml

This is the first release of a Bekkers Cabernet Sauvignon. It was grown exclusively on the Bekkers contoured vineyard at Clarendon. It’s made mostly with Cabernet Sauvignon though there’s also a small inclusion of Cabernet Franc. This is an elegant, dusty cabernet with length to burn. It’s a wine that will mature beautifully. It’s fragrant, drifted with dried herbs and green olives, and presents as both boysenberried and curranty in a fresh-faced way. It oozes confidence in that it doesn’t try too hard; it’s a quality wine, you take it as it is. It’s also a wine that builds as it breathes; the fruit swells, the tannin stretches, the finish extends like a trombone as it heads for the deep notes. Bird in Hand Nest Egg Cabernet Sauvignon - 6 x 750ml

Such was the power and concentration of the 2016 Nest Egg Cabernet, the barrels were matured for an incredible 28 months to ensure tannins were fully integrated and to add further complexity to the wine. The final blend included 50% New French Oak barriques, with the remaining 50% being first and second fill French Oak. Only the tightest grained, premium oak selected especially for Cabernet, is used for Nest Egg wines.. . All Cabernet barrels were then individually tasted with elite barrels selected for the Nest Egg range based on intensity of flavour, concentration, and finesse. Made in limited quantities, this vintage is comprised of only 11 barrels.. . The resulting wine is deep purple with garnet hues. Powerful yet distinctly cool climate, the pallet mirrors the nose with flavours of blackberries, violets, cedar and dried herbs. Richly textured with a dense, round mid palate and long velvet tannins, the wine has developed and evolved beautifully over time with cellar potential of over 15 years.

The palate is richly textured with powerful stone fruit, pink grapefruit and honey suckle along with lively acidity giving length and freshness to the wine. A delicate and elegant vintage with subtle complexity.

Bird in Hand Nest Egg Shiraz - 6 x 750ml

Top shiraz parcels were processed gently from start to finish. Fruit is partially destemmed, with up to 50% whole berries then transferred to small, open top fermenters.. . Parcels spend around 7-12 days on skins, with twice-daily analysis from the winemakers to ensure optimum colour and flavour. The premium oak barrels chosen for maturation were selected specifically to maximise the flavour profile of the shiraz. The wine spent 22 months ageing in barrels that are 65% new oak.. . The resulting limited release wine is deep coloured, dark red with a bright ruby hue. Powerful yet distinctly cool climate, on the nose flavours of brambly black fruit intertwined with kitchen spices of vanilla, clove, anise and pepper. A concentrated and powerful example of Adelaide Hills Shiraz that is superbly focussed with long, classy tannins.

The magic of Hunter Valley semillon on display with texture, fruit weight and great length from a wine that sees no oak. Brokenwood Indigo Vineyard Pinot Noir - 6 x 750ml

Medium density with bright red hues. The nose has very attractive bramble, warm spice and cherry fruit notes. A soft entry with forest fruits and excellent fruit tannin complimented by the whole bunch used in fermentation along with the French oak used. A fresh acid backbone carries the ripe fruit flavours right to the finish. It will increase complexity with bottle age or can be enjoyed as a vibrant Pinot Noir in its youth.

Brokenwood Oakey Creek Vineyard Semillon - 6 x 750ml

At 21 months of age on release, this wine still has a luminous pale green colour with paleyellow tints. A fragrant nose of lemongrass and orange citrus blossom, typical of young Hunter Semillon. Beautiful fruit weight, with Tahitian lime flavours complemented by a juicy acid line that keeps the flavour lingering. A wine that is drinking well now but will only build in complexity if given time.

Brokenwood Pinot Gris - 12 x 750ml

Pinot Gris grapes can be quite coloured, even pink in some years; this wine is a lovely youthful yellow/green. The aromas are of ripe pear, ginger and white florals, with nashi pear and beeswax flavours on the palate carried by a zesty acidic backbone. Excellent fruit weight supported by phenolic texture from the skin contact results in a delightful Pinot Gris that just asks to be consumed.

Brokenwood Rosato - 12 x 750ml

The colour has a very appealing pale coral hue. Sangiovese has a floral element to its aroma and this dominates with Turkish delight and almost rose water in the background. The palate has vibrant spice/ginger notes and a dry finish, and while technically a red wine, has plenty of zesty acid. Perfect out of the ice bucket on a blue sky day.

Brokenwood Semillon - 12 x 750ml

Vibrant in colour, with lots of luminous green tints. Lovely florals and apple blossom aromas. Mouth filling flavours of lime juice, green apple and lemon pith balancing the zesty acid backbone. The flavours linger on for quite some time, similar to the 2022, a classic Hunter Valley Semillon to enjoy now or age gracefully.
